In a significant development, K. T. Rama Rao (KTR), BRS working president, encountered a setback in his legal battle concerning the Formula E race case. The Supreme Court of India has declined to entertain an urgent hearing of KTR’s petition seeking to quash proceedings related to the case. The Chief Justice of India (CJI) bench ruled that there is no immediate need for an expedited hearing, setting the stage for a scheduled hearing on January 15. This decision has delayed the resolution of the matter, which has been under scrutiny for several months.

Meanwhile, KTR faced further scrutiny on Thursday as he appeared before the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for questioning in connection with the ongoing investigation. The ACB is probing the involvement of KTR and other officials in the controversial Formula E race, which was held under the supervision of the Telangana government.

The inquiry focuses on the role of IAS officer Arvind Kumar, who reportedly issued orders to facilitate the organization of the race. Sources indicate that the investigation is based on Kumar’s statements and recorded communications, which have raised questions about the financial dealings linked to the event. Specifically, KTR’s involvement in approving cash payments to the foreign company handling the race is under investigation.

This case has gained significant attention in political and legal circles, with critics questioning the transparency of the financial arrangements and the involvement of high-ranking officials.
